Jedidiah was nominated because "he is one of the most optimistic people I've ever met. When I met Jed in college I knew he had a compromising lung disease. His health worsened over time and he eventually NEEDED a double lung transplant. His transplant went smoothly and his story is one of hope and inspiration. He has started a ministry that focuses on the family. He is truly a 'hidden hero' in our community" said the person who nominated him.
Jed was born and raised in Portage County.
Jedidiah's ultimate goal is to impact the next generation, so he went to school for Youth and Family Ministry at Boyce University. Jed was at a low point in his life and he remembers a specific time where he says he encountered God. This experience, during his freshman year in his dorm room, gave him the inspiration and hope he needed to move forward with his future goals and plans. He feels the next generation needs positive voices/role models in their lives, telling them there is hope and that they are loved. He believes we live in a culture that is challenging for children to identify who they are and that they have worth and are valued. He simply wants to help.

Kristin Grieser - I vote for Jed! No matter WHAT obstacles he faces, he remains positive, hopeful and still puts others first. I have known Jed since 7th grade and he married my best friend. Together, they are a Powerhouse of strength and the prime example of how to do things right even in the midst of struggle. I love this family!!
