Jesse Gavin was recognized for his positive attitude and ability to make anyone smile, especially at his job.

Jesse was born and raised in Stevens Point.
Currently, Jesse is a senior at University of Stevens Point- studying media/film and, an assistant manager at Dairy Queen in Stevens Point. In his free time, he likes to play guitar and sing and perform at different events in the community. He would like to go into media advertisement and film.
Ever since Jesse was young, he always had a bubbly, outgoing personality. He really embraces that now as a way of expressing himself. He enjoys watching others demeanor change when he communicates with them in a positive way. Jesse is a person that likes to have fun and laugh, and he believes his attitude can be super contagious.
Jesse has overcome a few struggles to get to where he is today. One of the struggles was going to college and balancing a job. He ended up taking a year off, so he could refocus. When he went back to college, he has had three very successful semesters with a 4.0 grade average. Jesse also mentioned that he had a great support system to push him in a good direction, people like his mom, family and co-workers.
Jesse has worked at Dairy Queen for 10 years now, and still intends to stay employed after he graduates. He started as a cashier and worked all the way up to assistant manager. Jesse volunteers his time/talent by singing for the Childrens Miricle Network Day every year in August, on Dairy Queen on the patio.
Jesse says that loves this area because "Portage county gives you that small town feel, where you can depend on your neighbor's”
Jesse’s hero would be his grandpa Larry because he started a baseball card trading company, locally, and it is still up and running today. The company, Larry Fritsch Cards LLC, has become the largest baseball card trading company in the world. Jesse admired how his grandpa had a passion, and he took it, ran with it and succeeded.
